Suleymaniye Mosque

We toured the Suleymaniye Mosque with an expert guide who exlained the history of the building and that it was built by Suleymaniye the Magnificent who by all accounts was a truly magnificent person and it would have contained learning facilities and also a kitchen for feeding the needy. I loved the architecture and the history of it all.

i have visit in 2022 and i liket somuch becuse is perfect eveything , city , foods and moreee , I love istanbull!!!

The visit here was the highlight of my Istanbul trip... Not only for the mosque itself, which is beautiful to explore and wander around, but also for the views over the city and the domes of the mosque site.

Mosque itself wasn’t as fancy as the Blue Mosque or as dramatic as the Aya Sophia. But the complex as a whole is great, including the gardens and the cemetery. Couldn’t go into the tombs as closed on a Monday. Great views from the garden over the Bosphorus.

One of the hidden gems in Istanbul and less busy or visited by tourist - it has a lot history to it and next door is Istanbul university also housed in an amazing building - like the other two most famous mosque and as old as they are but with no queues at all. So if you cannot get into the blue mosque there is many like this mosque around Istanbul that can be optically attractive if you do see them on you walk about.
