Galata Tower

The views are amazing but get there early, 9:00 AM would be perfect to beat the crowd, elevator is only for going up, you have walk down the stairs to exit.

A visit to Istanbul wouldn't be complete without a trip to Galata Tower. The tower offers an amazing panoramic view of the city and the Bosphorus, and it's a great way to get your bearings and appreciate the scale of Istanbul. The elevator takes you up to the observation deck, where you can walk around and take in the incredible views. It's worth noting that the tower can get quite busy, especially during peak hours, so be prepared to wait in line. Overall, Galata Tower is a must-visit attraction in Istanbul, and the views alone are worth the price of admission.

It’s a nice place to visit, it has an amazing view but the cost of a ticket is a little bit high just to see the landscape, especially that there are other places that offer nice views of the city (like Topkapi or the terrace near Souleymanye). Anyway with visiting.

We came on a rainy Wednesday morning in April and there were hardly any other visitors. At the time of reviewing, an entry ticket cost 350tl and if you want an audio guide it is an extra 60tl. Purchase a ticket at the trolley ticket booth and head on up. An elevator whisks you to the sixth floor where you will find some displays about the history of the tower. Stairs take you to the final 2 floors and observation deck. The observation deck is a little narrow, fitting only 1-2 people deep. But the view spans across the entire city and waterway. You return to the ground floor by stairs. The entire attraction took about 45 minutes to experience. But feel free to hang out longer and enjoy the views or a sunset. A worthwhile attraction that will allow you to see Istanbul from a different vantage point.

The best place to see this tower is from a distance on the street. Going up is not to see this tower but watch from this tower
