Mr Sadik and his brothers run this wonderful family business. We bought several carpets and ceramics from this store and could not be more pleased with our beautiful purchases. The family, and in particular Mr Sadik, were so helpful, patient, and knowledgable about all the products they sell. Mr Sadik took the time to explain how the handicrafts are made, and actually stopped me making purchases if he felt that the product would not be suitable, and recommended alternatives at other stores. They were also extremely efficient in packaging and organising shipping (to Australia). In short they were terrific and I look forward to doing business with them in the future.

We purchased some beautiful ceramics at Turkmenzade. Since the items were delicate, I was concerned that things might break. Aziz assured me that everything was insured and that we should expect everything to arrive safely. I emailed Aziz when we returned home. About 4 days later FEDEX delivered a rather large plywood box. Without going into details about the packaging, I can say that it was the best quality packing I have ever seen. Of course, nothing was damaged.

Not only do they have a wonderful selection of ceramics and other handicrafts, but also a kind and knowledgeable proprietor, Sadik, who patiently took the time to explain the background and symbolism behind all the different motifs, showed us every variation they had in stock, made sure we found exactly what we wanted, and gave us a reasonable price. Then he carefully wrapped things up for a safe journey home. I highly recommend Turkmenzade. Kolay gelsin, Sadik!

Agree with other reviewers: wonderful store filled with beautiful handicrafts. Love my purchase which will always remind me of the lovely time in Istanbul. We were assisted by brothers Ahmed and Aziz who were friendly, patient and welcoming. I wish I had more time in Istanbul to spend more time and purchase a few more items from their shop! If you're visiting Istanbul, you must visit Turkmenzade Handicraft!

The salesman was very patient with me, and showed me dozens and dozens of different designs. Their items are stacked and some are in drawers, so this consumed a lot of his time. He also explained the process of Inzik ceramic painting and had on hand, an example which shows the 6 stages of production. Also, he gave me the prices in U.S. dollars, which is easier to put into perspective.
