The British Raj was in awe of the amazing Spices that India had to offer. The crown of the spice family was the Pepper! The Pepper was discovered 4,000 years ago and was considered the “master spice”, which was grown on the Malabar coast. During the various invasions of India, with each new ruler and with each new invader, Indian Cuisine evolved. It is that culinary magic of colonial India that we recreate at Peppermill. You get a taste of history, replete with it’s flavours, aromas and even intriguing stories as you bite into each morsel at Peppermill. At times, it is a bit Turkish; but some spices also invoke memories of the Greeks. You will also find nuances of French, Portuguese, Arabic and of course British flavours in the food that we serve at Peppermill.
