About

This l6th-century mosque, built on the slope of a hill near Sultanahmet, is one of the most beautiful examples of classical Turkish architecture in the city. Of special interest are the prayer niches and pulpit, which are covered in lovely Iznik tiles.

Not often visited by many but it is really worth it. Stunning to look at, very beautiful inside, incredible tile work. Outside there is a nice cemetery. When we went, we were alone and the guard said we could take a few photos. A highlight.

It is near to Sultanahmet mosque, it has a very nice interior and exterior design. You should not miss it, it is not yet discovered by many tourists so it is quite calm.

Hidden gem in the blue mosque area away from the tourist circus! Calm, peaceful and beautiful. Small. Stunning architecture.

Another beautiful camii build by Mimar Sinan for sokollu Mehmet who was grand V for three sultans. The camii is full of colours and tiles and also you can spot the black stone from Mecca which located inside.

The most colourful and beautiful mosque in Istanbul, in such peaceful area, truly recommended ! The mosque was about to close when we arrive, and Mehmet, one of the guy in charge of opening/closing, let us in and touch our heart with his generosity. Do not hesitate and go take a look !
