Beylerbeyi Palace is a true gem of Istanbul. The palace is located in the Beylerbeyi neighborhood on the Asian side of the Bosphorus. It was built in the 19th century and served as the summer residence of Ottoman sultans. I had the pleasure of visiting Beylerbeyi Palace with my family and we were all in awe of its beauty and grandeur.

Located in Üsküdar The Beylerbeyi Palace is a former imperial Ottoman summer residence from the 1800s that now serves as a museum. Not far from the first Bosphorus Bridge guests can see where the Sultan, his spouse and family spent time amongst dozens of well-appointed rooms and groomed grounds. Comissioned by Sultan Abdülaziz and predictably opulent interior photos are frowned upon.

We, like most visitors to Istanbul, were staying on the European side of the city. But wanting to see the Asian side too, we boarded a cruise boat and headed over. Our guide recommended this palace which was the summer palace. It turned out to be a good call. We enjoyed our visit here. It certainly was a lot less crowded than the other places we had visited and we enjoyed the opportunity to enjoy a bit of Istanbul without the crowds. The palace was interesting and we got some great pictures at water's edge looking back across the strait.

Worth the visit - looking through the inside of the stately home of one of the sultan’s - amazed at the architecture, fittings and furniture in the building - really some thing to behold and can be seen in a couple of hours - also great to be next to the Bosporus. Worth a visit

one of the unique & easy walking palaces in istanbul ; my first time there but of course not the last one . arriving to entrance ( asian side ) down the main bridge ( temuz bridge ) between europe & asia ; entrance then walking among the water side ( bosphuros ) ; a small palace but all originally items ; all rooms from the 19 century ;; very beautiful ; of course could be also a nice piknic ; have a turkish coffee in the outside seating ; of course come back .
