A unforgettable experience, hosted by the experienced and well informed Fethi. This must rank as one of travel’s great experiences, and Fethi’s offbeat approach adds huge dimension to an already amazing city, taken from the perspective of daily life in the city, far from the tourist crush of the SultanAhmet. For those looking for something different while in Istanbul, this is a must do.

We kicked off our two weeks in Istanbul with this day-long tour and it was incredible. You get a sense of the real Istanbul and see things beyond the tourist attractions.

In August of 2019 my wife and I spent a week in Old Istanbul while staying at the Yasmak Sultan Hotel (highly recommended. ). Via the hotel the Concierge, he arranged a one on one daytime boat tour of the Bospherus Strait with a tour guide named Musaffa. The cost of this tour with the guide included was $120.00 (plus $50 T/L tip) Canadian dollars.for both of us and well worth every cent. Musaffa was friendly, and incredibly well versed on the many many structures that sit on both sides of the Bospherus Strait. I took many many photographs on this tour as you can see in my photo section of this review. The tour was very interesting, educational and thoroughly enjoyable. . I was provided a 4 star hotel in a very reasonable price. Very nice room and breakfast. Other tours including Dhow Cruise, Bhurj Khalifa, Aquarium and Miracle Garden were all very well arranged.

As a result of my wife having taken this tour some 3 - 4 years ago, and having thoroughly enjoyed it, we specifically made a day stopover in Istanbul at the end of April, 2018, to take the day-long Other Tour. I might add that we had each already visited Istanbul 3 - 4 times.Therefore, our main, and only, reason for returning was for me to experience this tour. We made arrangements, by email with Fethi, the Other Tour operator/owner, many months in advance, to do the tour on Sunday, April 29th, 2018. On Friday night, April 27th, we communicated with Fethi, by telephone, to confirm the tour for the 29th. He did confirm it, and told us to be in the lobby of our hotel at 9:00 A.M. SHARP on Sunday morning, for the guide to pick us up. We waited in the lobby of our hotel from 8:50 A.M.until 9:20 A.M.Not only did no one come to get us, but also no one called --- even though Fethi had our telephone number, and the hotel`s telephone number as well. When we had the hotel concierge call Fethi, we learned that the tour had been cancelled because the guide, Fethi`s brother, was ill. To be fair, it is possible that his brother was ill. However, our suspicion is that they cancelled because doing a tour with only two people may not have been worth their time. Be that as it may, we were extremely upset and disappointed. Moreover, to have not let us know in advance was very unprofessional and unacceptable. As a result, we must state that we cannot recommend this tour.
