Whether you are browsing or in pursuit of a beautiful one off kilim or a cushion made from cut offs joined exquisitely, go nowhere else! The warm, friendly welcome you get from the owner Engin Demirkol (whose passion for her art is positively endearing) and her family puts you at ease and you know you are not going to get the hard sell. I spotted this elegant shop front amongst all the tacky little souvenir shops on a visit to the Ortokoy flea market and am so pleased I went in. I was not after anything but the friends I took there bought beautiful antique pieces ranging from cushions for US$35 to fabulous authentic antique runners at very reasonable prices compared to all the places the hotel concierges and tour guides recommend.

This shop is heaven for kilim lovers - and in case you are not yet in love with those kilims, you will be after leaving this shop. The shop is located in a wonderful old wooden house in Ortaköy near the mosque and have a very wide range of different kilims to offer, all possible sizes and price ranges. Engin, the owner, is very professional and knowledgeable about her products and understands quickly the needs of her customers. I was eager to find a kilim when I knew I have a business trip to turkey. But I dont know anything about it. So I went to Hazal Kilim and Engin explained everything. Erhan, her assistant also very helpful. It makes me comfortable and she has this personal touch to help you to choose the right kilim as everything she has is beautiful. Knowing its fix price also easier as I dont want to haggle. In the end, I got one Kilim I love and within my budget and the highest quality as well. The experience is so lovely, I spent 3 hours in her shop. So I recommended you to come with time to spare as you dont want to be rush. Such a beautiful store and a wonderful experience. Hazal was accommodating, knowledgeable, and took care to find out what the perfect piece was for my needs. Did not feel rushed or pressured at all, and I ended up with a kilim I will treasure forever. Would recommend!
