Although a little expensive to get in, the mosaics are fantastic examples of mosaics of the Otterman period.. Very fine and amazing colours.
True hidden gem for history lovers. We went there by chance while we were trying to find a towel shop in the Arasta market by the Blue Mosque. It is difficult to find the entrance but it worth it.
What a great little place, well worth a visit. The work and dedication involved in rescuing, conserving and then displaying these lovely mosaics is astonishing. Some beautiful and historically important mosaics.
It’s a very small but interesting museum showing some amazing mosaics, which mostly located on the floor below and can be viewed from the floor above, really fascinating scenes of ancient life showing some unknown tools, objects and animals. No crowds, 60 liras entrance fee.
Conveniently located next to the Arasta Bazaar; an ideal spot for tourist visitors but don’t expect a lot from this museum. I felt it could be curated with better constructed information and display of the mosaic pieces. Perhaps even hosting a mosaic workshops on the weekend to entice and engage visitors. We spent 10 mins as there wasn’t much to do or see.
